BATHURST ACADEMY BAND PROGRAMS
BAM BAND PROGRAM
Bathurst Academy of Music have one of the leading contemporary band programs in the country. Students interested in joining a band are invited to become part of the weekly ‘band afternoon’ each Wednesdays where bands meet and rehearse. Bands learn the skill of collaboration, songwriting, recording and performing live.
The BAM Band program is centered around preparation for performances throughout the year including the Sydney Family Show, the Orange Show, monthly open mic nights and the two biggest band events of the year, ‘Youth Band Night’ at the annual Bathurst Winter Festival, and the end of year summer music festival ‘BAMFEST’.

MACKILLOP GUITAR GROUP
The Mackillop College guitar group is coordinated by Academy guitar tutor, Tameka Kennedy. The group rehearse once a week at lunchtime (Mackillop College, Bathurst). The guitar group welcomes students of all levels and abilities, the group focus on arranging contemporary songs as a team and preparing for performances.
The Mackillop guitar group perform regularly at Academy and community events including the Orange Show, Academy Showcase, open mic nights and school events. Students enjoy the opportunity to gain experience performing and the safe and encouraging environment created for students to play guitar and sing if they choose to.
The Mackillop Guitar Group are always welcoming new members.

CATHEDRAL GUITAR GROUP
The Cathedral Guitar Group rehearse once a week at lunchtime (Cathedral School, Bathurst). The guitar group welcomes Cathedral students of all levels and abilities to join and learn how to play in an ensemble, work as a member of a team and experience performing in a safe, nurturing and fun environment.
The Cathedral guitar group perform regularly at school events including Band Night, Family Night, the Cathedral school fete and community events including the Orange Show, Bathurst Academy Showcase etc.
Cathedral Guitar Group is designed to be social, fun and give students a purpose to work hard in their music lessons. Guitar group provides students various performance goals while developing skills in team work and performing as part of an ensemble.
